Doors Day in Venice – January 4, 2017

By Los Angeles, Music, Uncategorized

On January 4th, 2017, councilman Mike Bonin of Venice, California declared this day as “Doors Day”, the 5oth anniversary of the first Doors album. On hand were Doors surviving members John Densmore and Robby Krieger, as well as several family members who stood on stage while councilman Bonin made the declaration and lit up an illuminated Doors sign hanging below the large “Venice” sign at the corner of Pacific and Windward avenues. Here are some videos I shot with my cell phone, not the best quality as it was dark and rainy, but it was still a historic event for all Doors fans and a great moment to witness in person.

The event was also covered by Rolling Stone magazine
